“When granting you the interim bail, it means that we do not want you to take part in any official duties”, the court has observed while considering the plea of the Delhi CM for bail.

The Bench has observed that it is not true to say that politicians form a special class and should be treated differently because everyone’s circumstances are unique.

The Solicitor General averred that if interim bond was given to Mr. Kejriwal, it would convey the wrong signal to the average person on the street. He noted that the Chief Minister has failed to appear in nine times over a six month period.”
He added that Mr. Kejriwal was incorrect when he claimed that, “good grief, the heavens must fall, if he does not get a chance to campaign” But the apex court declared that the Chief Minister of Delhi is not a hardcore criminal.
